Though not as effective as mothballs in wetter weather ,Crushed red peppers
keep our critters out of forbidden territory. The fragrance is definitely
better. :>)
We used mothballs (buried) to get rid of grub worms and some other
sub-surface pests. It also seemed to discourage earthworms and the deeper
"nightcrawlers.:>(
