Dutch Irises do not bloom in Ohio.  Sorry.

lol - just kidding.

Dutch Irises are usually the first to bloom.  As soon as they come out of
the ground and get at least 7 inches tall they bloom. Here in Phoenix they
have been blooming for 3-4 weeks already, but then again, we barely had a
winter at all.  I usually see them in full bloom during this time of year
here.  Then after they bloom, the heat hits, and they slowly dry up unless
they are in the shade.  They will come back year after year, but here it is
better to just yank them and buy new ones again later on in the fall.  The
new bulbs produce better blooms than the ones left in the soil here.  The
same thing goes for tulips and gladiolas, grape hyacinths, muscari
hyacinths, peacock orchids, and just about ANY bulb that may have come from
Michigan Bulb Co.
