RE: ADMIN: Active Ads

From: "Steve Szabo" <stevesz@erols.com>

John,

Those must be the messages I see that note at the bottom that the graphical
content has been removed. I thought that OneList had been doing it, but it
is perhaps the proxy server/firewall I use here at home. Anyway, with
OUTLOOK 2000, if the person would click on TOOLS|OPTIONS|INTERNET EMAIL, and
remove the checks from all the boxes concerning dial-up connections, that
should do it, but then, they would have to manually activate the connection
when they wished to send or receive mail.

Subject: [iris-talk] ADMIN: Active Ads

From: John I Jones <jijones@ix.netcom.com>

I have received several complaints similar to the following:

> ...ads have started appearing in some
> messages that are "Live", that is, linked to 'banner' ads on a server
> somewhere. I don't know if you have noticed yet or not. I find these ads
> rather objectionable, due to their propensity for prompting dial-up when I

Does anyone know of a way to prevent the ads from automatically dialing out?

Thanks
