CULT: Swing and Sway

From: "Kathy Chilton" <ranchiris@aol.com>

Hey, Walter, my Swing & Sway looks exactly as you describe upon
opening, especially when grown in rich soil. It also is an early
bloomer, with nice foliage and plant habits. I have one bloom right
now that is 3 days old and has aged to a pale blue white. My
original rhizome came from California. I have seen it in bloom at
Shepard's Iris Garden in Phoenix, and it matches my plant. They
describe it in their catalog as blended blue-violet, as opposed to
the R&I description. I wonder if our more alkaline soil and water
has an effect. Early on, I questioned its identity too, but have
come to believe that it really is Swing & Sway.
Lots of things beginning to send up stalks and bloom here in the
AZ desert. Our Spring Show is April 8 & 9, and even though it is
early, things are looking good.
