CAT: CATALOGS AND DREAMS

From: irisborer@aol.com

A few of the iris catalogs are out now, and many more are anticipated. My
current irises are looking SPLENDID, which only means that I must have more.
So, some obsessive thoughts this early spring morning....

What catalogs do you particularly get off on (and if you don't mind posting
information about how the rest of us can own one ourselves.....)??

And what is on your "can't draw another breath unless I possess it" list??

For kathyguest, my favorite catalogs are ENSATA GARDENS ($2 - write to E sata
Gardens, 9823 E. Michigan Ave., Galesburg, MI 49053 - sell mainly Japanese
Irises)

Contemporary Gardens - Perry Dyer (has anyone received this one for 2000?)

Keppel ($1 - write to Keith Keppel, PO Box 18154, Salem, OR 97305)

And my three TDF's are:

MUFFINGTON <-- Japanese iris, named in honor of herself
PRINCESS CAROLINE OF MONACO (<--TB import, ordered through Keppel)
ZEBRA BLUSH (<-- variegated foliage TB, ordered through Iris Talk)

In the days before I was fortunate enough to go to iris conventions, I
depended heavily on Perry Dyer's Contemporary Views, published in the AIS
Bulletin. I don't remember seeing this marvelous feature for some time now,
and I wonder if anyone has any info on Perry these days.

I do believe it will be an early season.

Kathy Guest in East Aurora, NY where she spent Saturday in Toronto at Canada
Blooms and will spend next weekend in Niagara Falls, eh?
