I think Louisiana Irises would be the thing for you to grow in your part
of Taiwan. I am in Florida, about 95 miles north of Tampa, and bout 25 - 30
miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. They do great here, but have to be
grown in sunken kid's wading pools because the ground gets too dry during our
dry season, which is spring especially.
Louisiana Irises can be grown successfully even in near tropical far
southern Florida. Where I am, we have a definate change of seasons. Summer
is steamy and humid with frequent rains. Fall is slow cooling with a
decrease in rain activity. Winter days are typically around 70 F, but there
can be sharp freezes fairly often. Spring is warming and very dry.
