Dear Jan:
Thanks for your advices! I am now working on exchanging some of my
flowers with someone over internet that has LA iris and try them first.
For some reasons I don't know, there are very few irises in Taiwan. The
only irises I saw are
Dutch irises in cut flower. I tried bulbs of Dutch irises before, only bloom
one season. The only thing close to irises here is the walking irises,
Neomarica gracilis. But these two days, I judge from the information on
internet that LA irises have best chance to succeed in Taiwan so I think I will
begin with them :). Still lone for bearded iris though, but they have to wait
for a while.
By the way, we have one native iris at here, Iris formosa, very short,
about 12". White flower with some yellow markings. I gathered them from wild.
If they can fruit for me, I would be more than glad to share with anyone over
internet. Maybe someday this iris can supply genes to make most irises like
Taiwan's climate :)
