Walter,
I'm glad to know someone else has trouble with Feature Attraction. I'm
lucky if I get bloom every other year. It was so lovely in Portland in
'94. My favority that year. Usually Schreiner's stuff grow great for
me... I can't explain this one.
But I've sometimes seen an unusual trait is some of Schreiners. For
example, Pledge Allegiance ('83), a medium blue, was a strong grower for
me... lots of increase.. however, it would only bloom for me every OTHER
year. Did the same no matter where I planted it or what I fed it. I
finally realized that was it's trait, at least for me, and decided an iris
couldn't stay in my garden if it only bloomed every 2 years. I've wondered
if it has a genetic in it that makes it perform that way. I've had one or
two other Schreiner's act similiar, and still wonder if there is connected
genetics.
