Jim, you may be right.
The most reasonably priced convention I think I ever went to was in
Omaha, where the Holiday Inn was the headquarters. Seems like it was
like $49 a night.
Next year in Memphis, a Maryott will be used, and I think I remember
they quoted a price of $69 or $79. Who goes to the convention for
the hotel anyway? You're out of your room most of the time anyway.
In 1989, at Memphis, the Peabody was the hotel headquarters, but
across the street was a Days Inn and another similar hotel. I think
most of the conventioneers were in the Days Inn along with me! The
Peabody wanted $89 or $99, but the Days Inn was $39 or so and was
very nice, and there was no problem getting breakfast for about
$3.50.
Jim, you can drive from Mo to Memphis. We'll see you there!
