Re:AIS Convention

When Jay was describing the events at the AIS Meeting--he left out 2 of the
most important events!
The first one is the Silent Auction--a chance to get rhizomes from new
Hybridizers-or ones you have not tried before--usually at a price lower that
when introduced--so far--there are donations from 9 Hybridizers and over 30
rhizomes--all but one are 2001 introductions--and some of them are quite
remarkable--a couple of them I remember seeing as seedlings the past couple
years--
A chance to buy some great publications--there are always great publications
from the AIS Library--and this year HIPS (Historic Iris Preservation
Society) has donated several copies of different publications--and past
copies of Roots--their publication--
And the second most important event is the get together of GEEKS--all of us
who are on IrisTalk--a great chance to put names with faces-- and talk about
our favorite subject--IRIS!!!!!

Carryl in western Montana zone 3/4--who is in charge of the Silent
Auction--and who hopes to see al 'talkers' there
