No I have not tried nicking the rhyzome on bloomout but I did try on a
rhyzome that was dormant for three years (Cranberry Ice) By dormant I mean
that each year I had no increase or bud stem, just one fan. I felt I had
nothing to lose so I nicked the rhyzome in several spots. Following year had
eight increases and 4 bloomstalks. One time around is not scientific but I
will try again.
