Cult: Arils in the North

We have had several arilbreds in Ottawa, Ian Efford has several more
species. Rick Tasco's 'Chocolate Mint' (born and raised in California)
was wonderful.

The problem for us is not the cold, but the wet. Good drainage and bed
elevation is important. Ian has his species in a special bed with a
glass roof. It's the first year of his experiment, I hope it's
successful.

Several people in Central Ontario have been growing arilbreds for
years. They're in z4ish, a little warmer than Ottawa. Don't give up
yet Chris.

Regards,

Sandy Ives (with far too much white mulch remaining)
