Greetings from Carney's Corner
Puxatawny Phil predicted six more weeks of winter, but his
counterpart the one and only General Bauregard Lee said the south
would see an earlier spring. Zone 6 of Northern middle Tennessee has
the buttercups, forsythia and hyacinths in full bloom now, with the
irises growing faster than the weeds, for a change. So far, this
spring has brought decent rainfall. Last two spring starts were too
dry. There have still been a few frosts, but have not seen major
damage. I look at the little irises every day now, hoping to see
that first bloomstalk. It should be pretty soon. Can hardly wait.
Our weather report comes from Nashville, TN, which is 80 miles away.
We do not get very acurate predictions here. When you look out the
window, then you know what the weather is. I hope everyone has a
wonderful spring. It is the best time of the year for coming to life.
Carol Ann from zone 6, where the sun should be shining more now!!
