At present I have populations of missouriensis from 3 areas. Flower color
does indeed vary but I wouldn't be surprised that this usually goes
unnoticed since the bloom doesn't last very long.

I've noticed that requirements and behavior can vary as well. While some
strains require quite a bit of spring moisture, others seem to have adapted
to a somewhat drier climate and require little if any additional watering.
One strain has shown an uncommon disregard for transplant shock while
another must be handled with care.

I'd guess that if anyone looked closely enough, they'd see all sorts of
variations.
