Well, GENETIC BURST, my harbinger of the bloom season, is going to
have to take a back seat to a little quarterbred aril median that
bloomed today. It is the usual bluish green color with darker bluish
virus spots so often seen in quarterbreds. If you work your
imagination overtime, you can see a 'signal' of three or four wine
lines at the tip of the whitish yellow beard. The standards are
white, domed, and crepey. Standing sixteen inches tall there are
three buds with one branch. Parentage: (Osage Warrior x Pink
Betterment) X Gene's Green Genes. Hmm, this might be more than a
quarter bred, come to think of it. 1/3?
GENETIC BURST is showing color but several days away from bloom.
Tons of buds on good straight stalks are coming on many other
arilbreds. I have not had any seventy or eighty degree days to make
the buds gooseneck or the stalks get limber and fall down as in past
years. Winter refuses to give up.
