Re: CULT: freezes (now 'the idiot seedling')

Well, I think it will be a cross of CORAL CHARMER X SATAN'S MISTRESS. The
idiot seedling has been called the washpot seedling prior to the bloomstalk.
It came up in an old cast iron washpot. I had sunk small pots of those
seeds that went through the refrigerator treatment after I gave up. The
roof run off in a heavy rain pounded in those sunken pots of seeds and I
think probably washed it out into the washpot. The pot most washed was this
cross. The other pots would all have qualified as arilbred crosses.

The plant looks like a TB without any hint of AB and the CC X SM pod had the
most seeds by far, being a full pod that the insects had damaged so was
collected too early. There's no telling what I may have dumped in that pot
from earlier years, so it could be a beepod from the era before pollen
daubing that sat there dormant for a year or two. I did note that earlier
this year Walter noted some SM seedlings also putting on bloomstalks during
the winter months and this one is repeating that pattern. I may never be
certain, but the SM children that bloomed last spring had definite
characteristics that were identifiable from the pollen parent and if this
seedling exhibits the same, I will be more convinced that is what it is. I
did plant it next those known CC X SM seedlings, so will have them for
comparison as well. If I'm correct, it does have a reblooming parent via
CC. I guess I will never know with certainty, though.
