Re: TB: Edith Wolford progeny

I have EARTH SONG, which was doing well at Phil Williams' in middle
Tennessee. It has done reasonably well here, but doesn't like being
jerked around by my erratic weather & other abuse. In other words, it's
still alive after a few years, doesn't bloom every year, and is stunted
both in flower size and stalk height most years that it does bloom,
presumably because of heat and dry weather in bloom season. At least
it's one that has stunting of stalk and bloom in proportion, so it just
is a nice, small iris. Sort of IB sized. Aphylla genes????

Anyway, it probably will do well with regular supply of moisture & a bit
of high shade.

I am eager to try Lauer's EW children, muddy colors or not. Several of
his other babies (CAN CAN DANCER & 2 others I can't remember at the
moment) are coming thru my winter looking really fantastic, in spite of
their misguided growth of winter foliage. They don't look like last
night's drop to the mid to low teens hurt them a bit.
