Colleen,
CROWNED HEADS looked aweseome here in SC last year when one
stalk froma start bloomed, (I got three because I expected to love it,
replaced INCANTATION) BUT...when I had to move it to a large pot so we
could remove trees here, it went REAAAAALLLY dormant, not one of the three
rhizomes had leaves. Now I think our climates are pretty opposite, withour
warmth and humidity in summer, mild but( lately) dry winters...am I right?
It'll be interresting to compare notes this bloom season. And BTW, check
out
Keppel's brand spankin new WINTRY SKY, which looks to be a more intense
darktop than even CH. Irises are getting to be like computers, as soon as
you have the latest model, a new better one comes out! I will say that
INCANTATION was a wonderful grower here, but not nearly the contrast I'd
expected from pictures. (Learned THAT lesson again).
I'm so happy that my post on EW generated such a fascinating
exchange,
what fun on a dreary Sunday!!
Janet Natale
zone 8 of SC cold and rainy but we sure need it
