Re: TB: Feature Attraction

One of our club members had a huge, spectacular clump of FEATURE
ATTRACTION in bloom last year. He had treated his entire garden with
something to prevent rot and is on top of a hill, so gets good air
circulation and cold air doesn't settle there (not a frost pocket). I
heard from him later that he had massive rot in everything after the
bloom season. Having left town for a few weeks, he came back to a
mess. It was a beautiful sight when in bloom.

I got RENAISSANCE FAIR, child of FEATURE ATTRACTION, as a bonus in a
very late order last year from Schreiners. The catalog says 'hoping to
get good growth on a crimped and frilly rosy orchid'. Silly me, I
thought it said 'having good growth' <g>. This was a last minute
order, arrived late September/ early October, I think. I covered all
these plants with Reemay for the winter, something I don't usually do,
but I figured they needed some extra help getting established. So far
so good - it looks alive & healthy, well anchored by roots. Stay tuned.
