Hi Walter,
I don't ever pull anything up and throw it away. I do move things that look unhappy. I bought Dusky Chalenger 2 years ago and it bloomed last spring, very pretty. I rarely get to see blooms on cultivars I planted the year before. Mary Francis, Eagle's Flight, and Megabucks all bloomed the first year also. Eagle's Flight was a little crowded on the stem but it may be better next year. Megabucks had really small blossoms but so many of them displayed two and three at a time. Quite the show. And great at a distance. Mary Francis smelled like Heaven left the door open. Dusky Chalenger looked like the perfect bloomstalk ready for a show.

Wendy, don't pull up or move BOOGIE WOOGIE or OWYHEE
DESERT or any other iris I mentioned until they bloom for you.
Some irises are regional and the above two may perform
beautifully for you.
The Dykes from the nineties that grow/grew very well for me
are JESSIE'S SONG, DUSKY CHALLENGER, SILVERADO,
THORNBIRD, and CONJURATION.
The best Dykes Medal growers from the eighties are VANITY,
VICTORIA FALLS, SONG OF NORWAY and TITAN'S GLORY.
For me, the best two Dykes from the last twenty years are TITAN'S
GLORY and DUSKY CHALLENGER. SILVERADO is a close
second.
