show dq'd

Betty,

I can certainly identify with you about having an iris disqualified at a
show. It happened to us. We specialize in aphylla derivitives and they
tend to branch from just above the rhizome, At the Portland show, the
show chairman insisted that the containers all match (what's this? an
iris show or a container show????) Of course, a basal branching iris
will not fit into an 7"tall tube 1" in diameter. The stalk was shoved
into one of these tubes and the judges disqualified it " because only
one stalk was allowed. It was only one stalk. But the container made it
look like an extra stalk was placed in it.

Fortunately, we can now use low open containers for low branching iris.

Have you checked out our web site at http://www.aphyllaspecialists.com
