This is a major reason against those tubes. Judges can't see whether the
stalk (stem?!) is placed high up in the tube when it really does not qualify
for height - there are so many ways possible to "cheat". That is why bottles
(clear) are better even tho they are more difficult to store. Convenience
puts me into the minority, however. Rosalie nr Baltimmore,USA zone 7 (until

Rosalie, did you see the clear PVC containers in Dallas?
About cheating in an AIS show, I guess I have lived a
sheltered life because I haven't seen any since the seventies.
I remember seeing several acts of 'cover-up' in one show by one exhibitor
that could be construed as cheating and this was at a big mall show in Fort Worth, probably in '79. A branch with an open flower had been skillfully pinned on a stalk. It was undetectable unless the container
was turned around, which the judges had a clerk do. The same person 'healed' a
tear on a fall by using egg white, so she admitted later at a grooming
school. She was 'caught' with the pin trick but not the egg white, which got her a blue ribbon.
I have judged many shows in several regions, and I have never seen any
'gentlemen's agreements' with 'malice and aforethought'.
However, I have seen some questionable things done by judges, but, of course,
it was always at a show where I entered but did not judge! :)
