Regarding the Dykes winner, I really don't know much about how an
iris gets to be the winner.
But apparently there is a 'short list' of favorites to get the award.
How does an iris make this list? Is it something that is done at the
iris convention in April? Do people nominate candidates?
And what would put a candidate on the list? It looks like it is not a
popularity contest; but something else.
