FANCY WOMAN or SPIRIT WORLD? My mind is made up, but what do others
think?
V. sez:
I think these may be another EW in the making. FANCY WOMAN grows well for me, but is prone to rot. SPIRIT WORLD just won't grow - I had one stunted stalk with two buds the first year, and nothing for several after that. The whole clump fit into a 4" pot when I chucked it.
I would like to see ROARING JELLY (SIB) or PELE (SDB) get it. These are both much more consistent growers in this part of the world. As judges, we are supposed to vote for what we consider to be the best iris, not just the best iris that also happens to be a TB. The British Dykes has gone to non-TBs several times.
