Ha, I can picture it now, the conniving and deception of the
hybridizers and judges, the behind-the-scenes maneuvering to get
somebody's iris eliminated, and finally, the winning hybridizer in
loin cloth and sandals fighting insects and all sorts of other vermin,
finally sprinting across the survivor's line with ragged iris in hand
hollering, 'This is the new Dykes Medal iris, my friends!'
