I see that Terry Aitkin is introducing RAPID FIRE this year. I saw this
iris two years ago in his garden, under the garden nickname, "25 buds." I
counted several stems for myself, and sure enough--25 buds or more on four
to five branches, with the bottom one or two branches rebranched. It has
the best and most consistant branching and bud placement I have seen on any
recent iris. It is a bit short and the flowers are medium-sized, but with
its prolific bloom and good growth, it should make a wonderful garden plant.
Ten years from now it might be the "Stella d'Oro" of the iris world!
