Greetings, everyone!
I have been advised by an authoritative source that I was in error when I
stated that AURA LIGHT (Blyth, 1996) would become a contender for the North
American Dykes Medal were it to win the Wister Medal, for which it is a
candidate this year. The catch is that AIS recommends the nominee for the
North American Dykes Medal, but it is the BIS that actually awards all the
Dykes' Medals. The BIS's rules permit only irises hybridized in North
America to receive the North American edition of the Dykes' Medal.
My apologies for any confusion I may have introduced into your
comprehension of the iris awards system because of my error.
