Hi Rita - good question. I know a lot about the concerns ecologists,
farmers, & conservationists have about exotic pest plants, but haven't
heard much in the way of factual discussion of how that might impact
commerce. The obvious invasive plants around here include things like
privet, kudzu, Japanese honeysuckle. They are considered pests because
they not only spread like crazy, they take over and crowd out desirable
plants - hard to imagine why anybody would be opposed to commercial
sales of kudzu, but I suppose it isnt' invasive everywhere, so 'should'
be ok to sell.
I know some folks on the Exotic Pest Plant Council (or whatever it's
called) & will ask.
