I was thinking of a parallel to naturalized American citizens, not
second class citizens in any sense!  So a naturalized foreign-born iris
would be one that was born somewhere other than USA but <sworn into
citizenship> here.  I guess that could be whenever it is introduced into
commerce here.  Natural enough, & certainly would have to have it's
immigration papers in order <g>.  Maybe there could be some kind of
<residency> requirement before becoming eligible to vote, um, I mean to
be voted for awards.
