Hi Bill,
Last year I had some Fuchsia colored ones volunteer from seed that dropped from a hanging basket. If they put up a show this year I'll see if I can collect some seed. My mother in law has some that have gone back to wild that have come up for the last 7 years in shades of lavender to near white. Have you grown any of the Blue Daddy petunias? I had some for a long time when I collected seed every year and replanted it. 
The reason I mentioned that cows like petunias, we had an orphan and he kept my petunias pruned very short. He actually made a beeline for them instead of my daylilies. He went for the daylilies next.  At 750 lbs he would just roll his eyes at me when I would try to beat him off the petunias. He didn't kill any of the plants but I lost some blossoms that year, and a few seed pods that were too close to his area.

  fatten em any better I could use some as a defensive perimiter on one side of 
  an iris bed. Strongly suspect this might be a little like trappin' skunks 
  instead of squirrels though! I am genuinely intrested in petunias that are 
  perenial or are prolific self sowers. Know any?
