Welcome to the list.
This topic has been much discussed. You are correct, but there are
conditions under which irises can .......
1. change colour ......
Roundup and other weedicides can cause temporary colour changes.
Blooms usually vary a little in colour as they age.
Some soil deficiencies or differences may result in minor variations of
colour.
2.Appear to change colour .........
You planted 2 different cultivars, and they are blooming in alternate years.
You started with lots of colours, and now have only one because the
strongest grower has taken over the bed.
The picture on the walmart iris packet was incorrect - you were expecting it
to be accurate.
Your irises produced seed pods and now you have seedlings of a different
colour, blooming amongst them.
