CULT:Bloom Season

I'm more of a process than goal oriented person (pretty obvious, or I
wouldn't be fiddling around trying to hybridize in this garden! <g>),
but a deadline is a good idea. I choose the week before TBs start
blooming in our Mississippi trial gardens.

When is that? Bet it isn't very much longer for you guys & gals.

Hmmm....the week before TBs start in MS??

I think I am about to set a record in my garden. There will be no iris bloom in March in my garden! My records show that something has bloomed every year
for sixteen years in a row in mid to late March. Unless some bud in an SDB that is hidden somewhere and unless we have some warm weather, there will be no iris blooms in March in North Mississippi. I have felt buds in some arilbreds for about two weeks now, but they are still at the base of the fans and haven't
inched upward because of the cool weather. So, it looks like a later than normal season here. Our show has been scheduled for April 20, a week early, so that we won't interfere with the National in Memphis, and I am wondering if there will be sufficient bloom to stage one. We need three solid weeks of sunshine and warm weather to bring on the TBs. Stay tuned.
