I think the above is true with most judges. However, with the case of BANGLES, I
have been to several conventions where I have seen it performing beautifully.
Since my climate generally does not agree with MTBs, including BANGLES, I have
voted for it for an HM and an AM because it is an outstanding example of its class,
and the hybridizer and flower should be recognized. But, for higher awards
(medals), I would let the judges who grow BANGLES in their garden decide if it is
worthy of higher awards.

Just when I open my mouth that politics is dead, I get a copy of an article wherein
the author states it is now possible for a certain iris to win the Dykes, if those judges
in a certain section don't 'split their votes.' Sounds like politics to me, but you can
read it for yourself and decide. The publication is wide-spread, and what is said
may do more harm than good.

I still like Dana Brown's suggestion that it be a requirement that a judge enter a
show annually and visit three gardens annually and not just take a JT school every
third year in the comforts of air-conditioning and seated in a padded chair with a tray
of munchies and sody water at hand.
