Re: TB:CULT: are your seeds hard?

Christian,

I do the fridge germination method simply because potted seedlings are
only around 3 or 4 inches when I want to transplant them into rows in
the seedling bed in August. This to me isn't good enough to have any
chance of bloom the following year. The growing season is too short and
the weather is too extreme planting seeds in pots.

I have my seeds wrapped up in paper towels in the fridge, I should see
germination in about a month. The seeds will them be potted and kept
under growlux lights with adequate ventilation until it warm enough to
get them out doors and then in to the ground in late May. Otherwise I
could wait forever to see bloom ;-( It's a lot of work but it keeps me
off the streets or as my wife says, it keeps me quite ;-)

To answer your question, the seeds expand because of the moist burrito
they live in for 2 months but they remain quite hard even after
germination.

Holding a geminated seed in hand is something to see.
