RE: TB 10-10-10 fertilizer

Well, we already use bone meal and blood meal, both in the fall. Every iris
gets bone meal under it when planted and we use the blood meal on our
pansies. Knock on wood, we have had no digging problems. Not from our
critters, canine and feline, nor do any of the wild critters dig it up.
Guess we've been lucky and I like it like that.
We have also used alfalfa tea, with wonderful results. However, as our
garden has grown we have found it nearly impossible to make and put on the
tea fast enough. We have been using a fertilizer that you make up like
you do miracle gro. So much for each gallon and then spray it on. Once
again the time involved here is immense. So, we are looking for a granular
you can broadcast on and water in. I have no problem making my own if I can
just come up with ingredients. After getting the idea here, I surfed the
internet looking for hints or ingredients and didn't come up with much.
Guess I will keep trying. My local supplier said he can get a custom mix
made for me.....if I want an 18 wheeler's worth <VBG>.

Laurie's list didn't include canine terriers which can make
short order of any garden especially my Cairn. My departed
canine friend Leo (dachshund) was a fast and furious hunter and
digger. The terriers are essentially hunters and are on the
prowl when they get the slightest whiff of blood. They are only
in the garden with me keeping a close eye.
