Re: CULT:PBF (from an old wife's perspective :-)

Hi,

Sorry, I need to get in the habit of stating where I am more than once in a
blue moon.

I am in central NM, sort of in three locations in the Albuquerque - Belen
area. My home (most of Iris are now there) is sw. of Belen at about 6000
ft, and is probably USDA Zone 8a, maybe 7b. The other locations are in the
Rio Grande valley in Albuquerque a bit below 5000 ft, one is the Rio Grande
Botanic Garden and the other is south of there where I used to live. These
are probably USDA Zone 6b/7a. Plants seem to respond about the same at
both locations; the winter winds at my home seem to compensate for the
warmer nights. All three places are very dry and very sunny. The old
place in the valley averaged 4 inches of rain per year over a 20 year
period (1982 to 2002). The Bot. Garden and the current home are perhaps
double that, but it's not clear yet, not enough years to compare yet.
