I have several cultivars that have dandelions growing amongst the rhizomes.
The dilemma I am facing is how to pull the dandelions without disturbing the
rhizomes which are just now beginning to put out new growth. I did try
pulling them by hand, which is a lost cause because all I end up with is a
fist full of leaves (though, I suppose, I could start collecting enough for
some dandelion wine). If you have faced this problem, how have you handled
it? I'd like to try to get this done before my work goes into overdrive (has
happened every year for the last few years just as the Iris start blooming,
so I only get to see them on weekends.
