TB: CULT: seeds and germination?

Hello all!
Now I may be jumping the gun here a bit, as I am still learning, so I will ask if what I think I'm seeing is not just wishful thinking.
I recently acquired some TB seeds. They have been in cold storage, not planted in anything but stored in packets since August or September of 2003. I planted them on March 1st, 2004. Now as of March 11th it appears as if I a few of the seeds actually have small seedlings on them. Is it possible that the cold storage in packets was enough of a "dormant stage" for them to actually germinate after having been planted in peat pots and saturated with cold water?
I planted the seeds, watered them and placed them in my refridgerator, assuming they needed more cold storage. I took one of the three trays out of the fridge after a week and placed that one in my basement in an area where the temperature doesn't get above about 60 degrees on average. That tray has a couple that look like they have germinated as well as the trays in the fridge.
I guess what I'm wondering is if I should remove the remaining trays from the fridge and warm them up a bit so the germinating seeds will take off or wait longer to see if any more germinate?
Also, how long after germination starts should I wait before i place the seedlings in sunlight or artificial light?
Thanks a lot for the help.
