Rumaging around on the web, looking for info on fungal root diseases,
what encourages & discourages them - everything I read says 'select
resistant cultivars', whether it's soybeans, fruit trees, grass, or
strawberries. Poor drainage, warm weather both make them worse, drought
stress is very hard on infected plants.
Amongst the cures for <foliar> fungus infections, they mention sulfur a
number of times.
I wonder if calcium sulfate (gypsum) and sulfur that some big growers
use (Cooley's?) might possibly reduce problems from these root fungi.
??
Hmmm, soak in Clorox for bacterial soft rot, sulfuric acid for root
fungus <g>
