Re: color charts & chips

Hello Lois - not so, I love to hear from 'iris heaven' <g>. Always
reasuring to know they grow well somewhere. And I love seeing the
photos of possibilities - if not this decade, sooner or later we will
come up with versions more suited to our climate. Don't let all our
griping around run you off. If it weren't for folks like you and John
Reeds, we wouldn't even know what we are missing.

I did exactly what you suggest - went to the local paint store, found
one set of color chips, then went to the local Ace hardware store, which
had two additional sets of color chips. ! I figure since Ace hardware
stores are all over the country, I could say I had a bloom that matched
a particular Ace color code & name, and others could see what that color
is, <if> they had an Ace hardware handy.

<Greetings from the country no one wants to hear from where everything
(well,
                   almost everything) grows and grows--northern
California. ....At paint stores there is a computerized
system in which you can bring in fabric, wood etc and
they can define the
color and match it with paint. ...Lois Cook Zone 9
