Your Mother and you must have had a nice collection.
I hope you get those seeds started someday, it'll be fun to see what they
look like.<<

Thanks for the welcome!

Yep, we took every last iris this time, old, new, in between, ugly and beautiful! Of course, with two of us making choices we're bound to have opposing opinions on some and so they all had to come! Sad to say but, sometimes we've moved our iris with us and ended up with less than ideal circumstances when we got there, so we've lost some over the years but we still have quite a collection. We're in Colorado and we've run into some horrid clay soil that doesn't drain worth anything. Unfortunately, it takes time to get that organic matter worked in and make flower beds where there weren't any before. You sure can tell the irises that are "good doers," as my mom calls them, when you put them through that kind of test! As a past Arabian horse and Persian cat breeder, my mom firmly believes in only doing what's good for the breed. So we've tried not to replace those that didn't do well . . . even though we really liked some of them.

We're hoping to get the seeds started this fall or over the winter. We're so excited to see what we have in there.
