Hi Bill,
I was pointing out that I had seen, among cultivars of mixed I. pallida -
I. variegata ancestry, several with distorted standards and/or falls,
tending toward being flatties. If this is one of the factors that
evidences hybrid ancestry for 'Edina', and against pure I. pallida
ancestry, then having a similar flattie that is I. pallida sort of weakens
the evidence. Doesn't prove anything one way or the other though.

I called myself paying attention and visited each link provided but
sometimes
miss salient points. Kindly elaborate of the chink in the argument beyond
not
knowing of a flattie variegata exists if you have more to offer.
