Griff, this has surprised me this year. These are from the 2003/2nd year
pots. The pots are usually out in the beds, but I wanted to keep a close eye
on them this year so I lined everything up near the house. This may account
for the earlier sprouts. Nothing has sprouted from the 2004 pots, but they
get less noon day sun due to the angle of the sun and the car port.
In recent years, sprouting has started about April 1. At Alvaton, when I
had the chicken wire and mulch in place, I've had sprouts as early as Feb. 25.
In the garden, plants have grown an inch or two over night! Hope we don't
get another hard freeze.
