Nobody's mentioned CHRISTMAS TIME, which is, indeed, not a new iris, but it
meets the basic criteria:  it is a red-bearded white and it is certainly hardy
and tough.  I've had it in my garden for years, and while it isn't a rapid
increaser it has survived in the cold and windswept prairie of northwest Iowa.
