Survival?  Well, if they don't survive everything else is  incidental!  Some 
aren't even a faded memory!  
 
Some of mine survive, but show a marked tendency toward "failure to  thrive." 
 When a seedling is planted among it's siblings and simply sets  there with 
no growth or stops at very little growth, survival becomes relatively  
unimportant.  Again, I don't move it to another position.  It had the  same 
opportunities as it's siblings.  When they behave this way, I don't  even want to see 
them bloom!  Cause they are sure to be pretty!   Murphy's law!
