Large foliage will not 'survive' long if not supported by an equally large  
root system, or balance. Root system is my second standard for sorting 
seedlings  at planting time,  therefore becoming my number one criteria.    Large 
seedlings with the support of good linear root systems are planted  first in the 
row.  Followed by large seedlings with less roots.
