TB: Children in the Garden

Good morning robins: By now I have had generations of children in my garden.
First of all I tell the parents I don't care if their kids wander my garden
if they will let me chastise them if necessary. Then I explain the rules to
the children. I show them how to follow the stem to the bottom to pick
flowers. I educate them about different plants and which they may pick and which
they cannot. I point out the areas for hide and seek and the off limit areas for
running recklessly around. I show them how to "follow my steps" in the
garden to avoid stepping in the wrong place. I give them plants to plant at their
own home. On Mother's DAy or special days, I pick a special bouquet if
requested and throw in some forbidden plants. They are fascinated with my compost
and often bring road kill to put in my pile. The older ones instruct the
younger ones and I hear them laying down the law. They feel so important when
being in charge of my garden. I have had absolutely zero problems with children,
now dogs are another story.

Didn't intend to post twice in one day but it has been so long since I posted
anything that I sent it yesterday to the wrong address.
