 I had just posted on this, but some additional information.

Each grouping of? genes? on the ladder are seperate effects on appearance. So
A, B, C, D, E, V? for rabbits are all seperate factors, although they interact
with each other, but not necessarily seperate genes. ( I would organize them
differently).

The same way we could group. anthocyanin as A, Cartenoid as C, Amoena as Am,
Plicata as Pl,? Bands as B , Br for broken colour, Ae for enhanced
anthocyanin? etc,? if we wished. They also interact with each other.

It may help some people keep all the factors seperate. But order of rungs on
ladder are basically irrelevant, except that they make a nice alphabet with
rabbits. Same basic colour genes in all animals, but each group, organizes it
a bit differently.

To my knowledge there is no "ladder of dominance" as Cindy describes.  Would
it be possible to arrange iris genetic in this manner?
