How many of us are going to Sacramento? If anyone's interested, I would be
happy to make up e-mail pins that we can wear so that we can find each other
(ripped off this idea from the daylily folks). My sweet Leonard teaches
Technology, so I can laminate... my vision is a bright colored rectangle with
our name & e-mail address on it. Comments?
I am perfectly thrilled that a second bus was added to Maryott's - at a time
when I can go! For those who don't know, there is a bus scheduled for
Tuesday... BEFORE all the Board meetings ..
For anyone who's thinking about MASS (siberian & species mini-convention), I
understand they are close to being sold out, so you better jump on it or be
disappointed.
Who's going to the JI convention in St. Louis? Those folks are really
pulling out all the stops to make that a wonderful convention... hope the
fact that 2 conventions are overlapping doesn't hurt them.
Region 2 is planning a trip to Maine this year... we found that we can more
or less create our OWN mini-mini convention by getting a group together on a
minibus and traveling to a cluster of gardens during bloom time. By doing
this we had the good fortune to visit Innerst's, Kegerises x 2, Draycott and
Bush one time.... Stahley, Ensata, Anna Mae Miller and Hollingworth another
time - and this year we're heading for Maine for JI season... we'll see
Currier's, Shirley Pope's, the White's and I can't remember who else. The
people who organize the trip are fantastic... always mix it up so that this
time we'll hit LL Bean for shopping, will eat lobster on the coast...maybe
take a dinner cruise and also stop at daylily and hosta gardens. They plan
hotels too and get group rates when they can.
So - with all the planning and wishing I'm doing this loooooooong cold
winter, I may not SEE my own garden!
Is it illegal to ramble on like this? Probably. Sorry. Hope you've all
deleted this. Too much coffee, vitamins and enthusiasm.
