Chris et al, 
The reason the AIS Board had to increase the AIS dues was that the the income
of AIS had not been supporting outflows for some time.  In retrospect, it
would have been better perhaps to have raised the dues incrementally over the
past 5 years....but that was not done.  So based on the new Treasurer's
analysis and projections, the Board adopted a number of economies, e.g. no
longer providing personalized stationary to RVPs and most officers.  Even so,
the dues had to be raised.  Current projections indicate dues will now be
ample to cover costs into the foreseeable future. I hope this answers some of
